Day 3 – Bath to Ludlow

Day 3 takes us from Bath, across the Severn River Crossing, past Chepstow Castle and then through the Wye Valley – finising in Ludlow. A total of 101 miles and 5948ft of climbing.

Day 3 should hopefully be easier than Days 1 & 2 and will give us some awesome views of countryside that you don’t often see any other way.

Update

Day 3 starts fighting uphill with the early Bath rush hour…. It’s a steep long climb out of Bath made worse by the traffic in the way.. As we left Bath it started raining and continued all day…

This made it a bit more miserable from a cycling perspective… Cold and wet plus the roads were slippy and the brakes didn’t work well at all! Made for very slow going…

After leaving Bath we crossed over the north side of Bristol, fighting the rush hour as we went and then crossed the Severn Bridge, putting us briefly in Wales.

Crossing immediately back I to England, we cycled along the Wye valley (which would look loads better in sunshine!) and then crosse to camp in Ludlow

We’ve now completed 316 of the 980 miles…. So getting there!
